Saturday, September 9th, 7:30 pm Fred Johnson is an accomplished writer, vocalist and percussionist and is recognized internationally as one of the world’s greatest vocal jazz improvisers and has been honored as one of the worlds most passionate and versed chanters of sacred text. Fred has extensively toured as a main stage performer and has performed on stage with or as the opening act for such musical greats as Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Chick Corea, Herbie Mann, Nat Adderly, Joe Zawinul, David Sanborn, Richard Elliot, Ramsey Lewis, Aretha Franklin, Patti La Belle, Patti Austin, George Benson, BB King and Bashia. He has presented music and inspirational programs in association with Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Dr. Maya Angelou, Dr. Michael Beckwith, Jack Canfield, Marianne Williamson and has written and directed 19 stage productions in New York, Boston, San Diego and Tampa. He in an honored inductee to the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Hall of Fame and has been featured at The Jazz Holiday 13 times. He was, for over 20 years in Tampa Bay, a key contributor in both schools and community centers to presenting programs which served to empower the understanding of arts as a conduit for educational enrichment and enhancement of core curriculum skills training in our educational system. He has toured the world as an ambassador for the importance of arts in education and as a global bridge to peace and greater understanding between the nations of the world. Fred currently has a newly released recording “Can’t Say Enough About You” and is available for concert, orchestral and club performances.
